An entry door with large leafs in a random pattern provided just the level of privacy for this homeowner.  He wanted decoration that would offer bits of clear areas for unobstructed viewing when visitors arrive.

His exact words: “They provide just the perfect amount of privacy – I can see out quite well and no one really can see in unless they have their face pressed against the glass (and that would be very weird and inappropriate right? “

Many customers use our selection of textured glass for the exterior door inserts to serve as their layer of privacy. Since the doors inserts are 2 layers of glass with an airspace, it’s the inside textured layer that offers the 100% privacy layer.  The etching is always done on the outside so it provides decoration that can be seen from the street.  And yes, it can also be seen from the inside, but with distortion.

This customer chose clear glass for both layers.  He is using the etching for privacy and knows that it has clear as well as sheer areas.  Every customer has to choose what they are comfortable with. It’s always somewhere between 0 – 100% privacy and everywhere in between!
