Your Etched Glass Pantry Door can be Very Tropical

     An etched glass pantry door can be frosted to hide your clutter but decorative to please the eye. When this customer decided to remodel they knew they wanted a different pantry door.  Since they live on the coast they wanted something tropical. This was the perfect answer for them. A design that had palm leafs and birds of paradise.  

    The etched glass door breaks up the monotony of all the regular passage doors in the home.  This makes it unique and a focal point.  Since it is painted white like the rest of the doors in the home, that makes it coordinate well also.  Our standard frosted doors are primed and come in either clear or frosted.  Sometime people would want to see into the pantry or wine cabinet depending on the cabinetry inside.  Our designs are versatile so we will make the etched glass design accommodate the overall goal.

Are Glass Pantry Doors Standard Heights?

 If you are working with a contractor, he will know what to tell us. If you are the installer know that bifolds and hinged doors have different width and heights openings. Our resource page for door widths and heights pertains to EXTERIOR doors.  Interior doors are true heights 80″ and 96″ slabs. You add 2″ to the slab for the heights.  For widths add 1 1/2″ for single doors and 2 1/2″ for double doors.  Interior doors are typically offered in widths, 24″ , 28″, 30″ ,32″, 36″.  So changing from bi folds usually is accomplished by cutting off the drywall and maybe increasing the stud width with a sawsall. Heights, either cut the door height down or increase the jamb height. It is always more work to change from bifolds to hinged doors.  

If you already have hinged doors or it is new construction, you will have no problems usually. Just frame out with a little wiggle room. Nothing is ever really square so tight fits are difficult.
