A Perfect Glass for an Aquatic Etched Glass Scene
What could be better that a glass type that looks like water when your design features turtles and fish? Front doors look wonderful with Vapor glass and gives light and distorted privacy for this area in the home. We has done this similar design on a bathroom door using microgranite which you can see in our gallery for aquatic etched glass page. You can also see the bathroom patio door with the same design on it’s own page. It still looks wonderful, but let’s face it, the bathroom needs total privacy. Microgranite glass gives great privacy on a glass door for a bathroom.
This glass has a privacy rating of a 7. Although it has a larger, smoother texture, only the perfect setting would allow a view into the home. The good thing is that people overlook the necessity to be able to see if a person is standing at your door. Most likely, you would see the shape of a person if someone was standing at the doorway if the lighting was just right but not any details.
A Mermaid holding a Turtle
Faces are always difficult to etch. One small mistake and the glass etching project is ruined. This mermaid is done on clear hurricane impact glass door insert. It was installed on the islands off the coast of Florida, so hurricane protection is mandated by the building codes in the area.
Seaside homes often opt for something aquatic to reflect the atmosphere of the surroundings. Why not complete the theme entirely? Of course we have done many hurricane impact glass doors with other privacy glass textures. It just depends on if the homeowner wants to always have the view from the doorway. Some people do opt for miniblinds between the glass so they can have privacy and view in the same glass door. That is a great option.
