Of course you can! Although we do not install shower enclosures, different glass companies do deliver glass to us and install it. This company is Glass & Mirror Crafters in New Port Richey, FL. Our customer is building a home and since I did a project for the front door, they decided to also do the master bathroom shower with an aquatic theme.

How is Glass Etched?

Well, there is a long learning curve and space needed and equipment. You also cannot mind getting dirty, hot, or cold. It is also very heavy so you need to be quite physical.

Here is a speeded up video of the etching phase. I really do love etching glass. My specialty is glass doors. Most of my projects are hurricane impact exterior glass doors. A smaller portion of my projects are interior glass doors and shower door panels. I rarely do small projects because my equipment is not set up for smaller projects such as wine glasses.

Please enjoy the video. It takes hours to get to the point when you are blasting glass and a few hours once you actually get started. It is really time consuming.

this same customer initially needed an etched glass design in their front door and sidelights. Just speaking to her once the door inserts were installed, she said she is getting so many compliments on the front entry. She says “Pictures don’t do it justice” Yep, it’s hard to photograph glass. Believe me , I’ve tried!
