Barn Door

Barn Doors as Interior Doors

Barn doors are a term used to describe a sliding door that is hung on a rail along the wall. There are many types of barn door hardware. All my doors are regular doors that are not hinged. I do not offer frameless barn doors.

This gallery is showing you any background or type of etching just hung or delivered as a door ready for a barn door installation. Most customers do not have any prep done to the door prior to delivery.  That must be done on site at installation time. So many are shown as an unprepped door slab.

Every set of barn door hardware comes with installation instructions. Typically the 80″ doors fit where a normal 6’8″ hinges doors fits and the 96″ doors fit where your 8 ft doors fit.  A 1×6 painted board typically serves as the anchor for the hardware track. It is usually positioned the same level as the top horizontal trim board seen around a hinged door. The board and track must be 2x the width of the door slab.  The door slab itself should overlap the opening at least 1 ” on both sides. Usually decorative hardware is installed on the outside and a finger pull flush in the door on the inside.
