Glass Barn Doors can be Unique and Creative
Our customer used her dragonfly picture hanging in her office for the inspiration for her custom glass door. Glass doors can be so creative when etched glass designs are inspired from the decor. We thought the picture was so abstract that the creativity would just be abstract also.
This door will be hung as a barn door to the entrance of the room. The picture is taken with a dark backdrop just for photography purposes before it was installed. Hopefully the customer will send a photo to show it installed. She wanted clear glass so she could see out the office door. This design could be done on frosted glass for a door needing obscurity. It could be an interior door such as a pantry door or an exterior door with a textured glass insert. Barn Door Installation
This clear glass door is intended to be hung as a barn door to a home office.The barn door hardware will be purchased separately. The hardware will come with instructions that give specific dimensions for the hardware to hang above the floor. These standard height doors are 80″ in height ( 8ft are 96″) .
The instructions will tell you an equation that adds the height of the door to a specific number to determine exactly the horizontal distance to the center of the holes of the hardware track. You will then have the right clearance between the bottom of the door and the floor and between the top of the door and the hardware hangers.
Each barn door hardware can have different measurements so this is important to look for this instruction before you start.
