Glass Pantry Doors can be Unique
Glass pantry doors can be frosted with a unique etched design as depicted in this picture. This etched glass design on this pantry doors is just a representation of possibilities for your glass pantry door. Depending on the features you need for your door, determines whether you use a clear glass door or a frosted glass door. Using clear of course makes a display of the contents which is sometimes great for an organized space such as a wine cabinet, display pantry, cabinet etc. Frosted glass pantry doors offers a different answer to hiding clutter and offering an etched glass decorative detail. It is always etched on the outside when the project is a frosted glass door. It can be etched on either side when it is a clear door. Of course the etched design on the outer side will not be obstructed with glare or reflections on the glass. That makes the design much easier to see.
Etched glass front doors are always etched on the outside because of the glass glare. You may think that it would be difficult to keep clean but that is not true. Over the years we have done 100’s of doors that way with absolutely no problem. Just normal cleaning with glass cleaner is sufficient for the average customer. Glass etching is permanent so it will not be wiped off. If you just cover it before painting with non inked paper, you should be fine. Whenever you have soiled hands just use the door handle, that’s it!
Above is an example of the same design used on front entry door inserts. These are specially sized for fiberglass doors, not wood doors. While the thickness of wood and fiberglass doors are the same, the pannelled areas are different. So glass door inserts are just for fiberglass entry doors. They are etched on standard and hurricane impact glass door inserts.
Do you notice how the background is depicted with dark glass? That is how the background looks on etched glass when the home is without a window directly across from the front doors. Notice the transom above the door is the same way? The background glass can be clear or textured depending on your requirement for view or privacy.
