Branding Your Business with an Etched Logo on Glass
This apartment community needed a new front entry door due to rotted door frame and door edge. The door will have the community’s name as an etched logo on a glass door insert.
The new front door will be a Plastpro fiberglass door with a no rot fiberglass door frame. They will not need to replace the new door probably for 25 to 30 years. Plastpro door slab are manufactured with longevity and strength in mind. The door slabs have a 25 year warranty as well as the door frame. Best of all, we know it will last. The door insert has a seal warranty of 10 years and is an insulated door insert 1/2″ thick. This means there is an airspace between the inner and outer layers of tempered glass. The glass is also Low-E to help reflect harmful sun rays that increase heat inside the air conditioned space.
This Etched Logo Example Shows 2 Types of Glass Etching
When thinking about your logo, think about how much of your glass do you want to cover.
A Positive Etch the design itself is the etched area. In this example it is the words “Urban Place”. The reverse is true for a Reverse Etch, hence the name. Many times a reverse etch is used with a bigger area in the background etched when you would want to obstruct or make the non etched area stand out. That example is where you see the words ” Apartment Homes”.

Below are some other examples of logos with varying uses of positive and negative glass etching. An etched logo on a glass door is not the only way to brand your business. Here you can see some examples of a Logo on a mirror over a bar area. The background area is etched to make the lettering stand out in the center of the logo. The template protects the mirror outside the logo from getting etched. This logo is about 1/2 the width of the mirror so it doesn’t look too big or too small and looks proportional to the size of the mirror.
