Everyone Loves Something Artistic
This very artistic glass door was created for an animal clinic in Seffner, Florida. The veterinarian lives in a horse community so this is her passion.
When designing a new etched glass design for a client, I really like it if they can provide anything for inspiration. This gives me a feel for something they may like. The lower picture shows you the inspiration image that this client sent to me.
This door is a solid core exterior door that was cut out. You cannot do this with standard hollow interior doors. The glass is 1/4″ tempered glass. The etched side is the clinic side and the shiny side is to the waiting room. The glass was held in the door by custom cutting trim wood to hold it in the door with 1/4 round wood and trim to provide a finished edge. After that the door was painted and rehung on it’s hinges.
A Reverse Etched Glass Door was the Answer
The office door was used to separate the waiting room from the clinic areas. The technicians needed a glass door that would satisfy two needs. One need was to block the view into the clinic. The second need was to be able to see people or another dog or animal before opening the door. Thus, you need some areas as you look down the door to the floor.
The frosted areas are the etched areas and the dark areas are the clear areas. All technicians can look over the horse and certain areas within the horse. They did not need animals encountering each other unexpectedly.
Embrace Your Artistic Side
Your business or your home is the best place to incorporate an artistic glass door into your decor. Think about what may work, send us a few images. We will discuss your glass door project first. Then we will put together several images sometimes to create the design theme that works for the purpose you need.
Sometimes it is a commercial logo, or a commercial type image, and most times for us it is just matching an interior design in a home.
