How to Order New Glass Doors for Home Entryways
It’s very easy to order new entry doors for your home
New doors with custom design are my specialty. I have created designs on glass doors for over 20 years now. I know the homeowner without construction experience feels overwhelmed. Any handyman or carpenter can help with the basic information. We just have to determine what size hole (Rough opening) we have to work with and then determine the correct size door. Not difficult, really.
Step 1 The Fun Part – The Design
- Browse the galleries you prefer. The coastal designs for doors all have a theme such as Aquatic, Tropical, Geometric, Traditional. Some have sub categories such as mermaids, turtles, etc. They all have names, make note of that.
Step 2 The Variables
Visit the Resources tab which covers all the variables related to ordering doors such as measurements, glass choices etc. Look at every sub page of the Resources tab. This covers final door sizes, door swing, hinge & glass choices,
Step 3 – Worksheet
Under the Resources tab – Go over the worksheet with the installer. There is one for interior doors and another for exterior doors. All the common details associated with ordering a door. Don’t worry, it’s easy. Measurement guide / Order form worksheet This summarizes all the standard variables.
Step 4 – Contact me
The worksheet form can be submitted online or you can scan and email it to me. (EGDflorida@gmail.com) Either way, I will get an email with your details. If you choose to print it out that’s great too because you will have it in front of you when I call you back. I ALWAYS go over this with you before we move forward.
Step 5 – Invoicing
We will confirm together all the details over the phone, I will send you an invoice that reflects all the correct details. By this time the homeowner has gone over all the details with the installer. Once that pmt is submitted, all your materials are ordered and the process is underway. I can give you a guesstimate of the lead time to the best of my knowledge.
Step 6 – Arranging Delivery / Pickup
Delivery: You can pick up or I can arrange delivery. Of course there is a delivery fee that varies depending upon where your home is. I have 2 pickup locations, Wesley Chapel, FL or Astor, FL. Our main workspace is Wesley Chapel.
